Report on the State of Nigerian Embassies and Consulate

Dec 9, 2022

The National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) commissioned a study to determine the actual condition of the Nigerian embassies and consulates through the #OurVotesCount initiative. The method of study involved site visitation to the embassies and consulates, desktop review and analysis of 358 Respondents from a cross-sectional survey.

The report was presented at a public event in Abuja Friday, December 8, 2022 as a special report on the State of Nigerian Embassies and Consulates. This investigative report, independently funded by the Pyrates Confraternity was unveiled with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the Diplomatic Corps, the National Assembly, the media and other relevant stakeholders in attendance .

The report identifies the age-old difficulties Nigerians experience with consular services abroad. One of the expected outcomes is to provoke conversations that would reshape the operational efficiency of Nigerian foreign missions. With this, our embassies and consulates could deliver representation that citizens require, deserve and will be proud of being Nigerians.
